DebtAware pupils create exciting money-management podcasts
DebtAware has partnered with lotto-funded Shadsworth and Whitebirk Big Local and Bauer Academy to create some radio interview-style podcasts which explore the themes of our Money Management programme.
Written and performed by Money Mentors from Blackburn, the podcasts were recorded and professionally edited by the radio experts at Bauer Academy, part of Rock FM.
The podcasts include interviews with people explaining relatable, true-to-life financial problems that many people face on a daily basis, as well as talking to Credit Unions and a business entrepreneur.
Pupils spent the week working on the project, first creating scripts and practising. They then recorded for a full day with Bauer Academy’s Chloe, before the podcasts were edited and sounds and background music were added.
The podcasts will now be distributed to the pupils who took part from Intack Primary School as well as being used as an aid in the financial education lessons for all future DebtAware learners.
Brian Souter, Financial Education Manager said of the recordings;
“At DebtAware we want the children to really enjoy our money management lessons and take these messages home with them, which is why we engage in a number of interesting activities within our programme such as quizzes, illustrated stories and hands-on activities. The podcasts add another layer of resources and are hopefully useful for students, teachers, and parents alike article source.
“We would like to thank Shadsworth and Whitebirk Big Local for funding the project, which will really benefit the local students who took part as well as the pupils across the country who will learn using the podcasts.”
